With these core values and beliefs, we provide a highly respected, politically-diverse and successful lobbying firm:

1. To always be the best advocates and activists for our client’s immediate and long-term agenda --- knowing more about their business than anyone else --- except them.

2. To be selective in choosing our clients, truly believing in the issues for which we advocate, eliminating the potential or the appearance of conflict. To always treat our clients as more than just dollars.

3. To maintain, close friendships, bipartisan respect, interpersonal skills, confidence and empathy with the Legislators. To always treat Legislators as more than just votes.

4. To draw from our own electoral success, providing contributions to candidates that are more than just financial. To engage in the high-level and grass roots advocacy in federal, state and local campaigns on behalf of clients and friends and create long-term, intimate, personal, and genuine relationships of trust.

5. To never jeopardize our reputation or that of our clients. Having helped draft the ethics laws under which we operate, our actions exemplify unchallenged integrity and ethical conduct in all our pursuits.

6. To keep a balanced set of priorities and value what’s really important --- family and friends.

First:  WE ARE PASSIONATE PROFESSIONALS
We love what we do and believe in the issues for which we advocate. We are passionate about being lobbyists, we are each uniquely suited to lobby because of an array of diverse attributes we each possess with a common goal – your best interests.  We enjoy going to work for our clients.  We have a real stake in the results we seek and produce.

Second:  WE KNOW THE PROCESS.
As former Legislators from opposing parties, we are intimate with both sides of the aisle, providing you with the immediate access to the critical decision-makers you need. Our mutual goal is to eliminate those situations where you are forced into a "bet the company" legislative or regulatory gamble and to increase the odds for a positive resolution.

Success depends on how your front-line legislative team responds in a crisis: knowing what the competition is doing, flexibility in revising strategy, authoring or defeating last minute amendments, synthesizing new facts, squelching rumors, and even tracking who's moving in and out of the Leadership and Committee Chair's offices.

The key to legislative success is to do extensive preparation and early groundwork, particularly with a new Governor, Cabinet and a one-third turnover in the legislature. The ability to keep our finger on the pulse of this lawmaking body is 'value added' and can often inspire a quickly crafted strategy that inures directly to your benefit.  The difference is in anticipating the glitches and being pro-active rather than reactive.  We continuously track the details and by working closely with you, we never lose sight of the big picture.

Third:  WE KNOW THE LEGISLATORS.
Our team really knows the Legislators, some on a very personal level.  The diversity of our backgrounds reflects the diverse composition of the General Assembly as a whole and all regions of the state.  Whether it's the personal note for a celebratory occasion or personal loss, we are in touch with their needs and interests and those of their staff during the session and in the interim. Whether it's at a convention, a fundraiser, at the beach or on the golf course, we are there for them.  We believe that is why we have such a strong record of bipartisan support and accomplishments.

Fourth:  WE KNOW AND RESPECT THE LAW AND ETHICS
Each jurisdiction has its own unique intricate laws and regulations that govern not only the activities of lobbyists, but also the witnesses that testify before various committees. We remain in full compliance with all State Ethics Commissions, and have successfully completed the statutorily mandated training enacted by the various State Legislatures. This ensures current, accurate and sound knowledge of the laws that govern lobbyists as we respect the rule of law, integrity, and ethical conduct in all legislative, regulatory, and legal affairs. Our reputations are our investment and our credibility. It is our calling card. We would never jeopardize our reputations, or yours.

Fifth:  WE HAVE THE EXPERIENCE
You will have on your team former members of the Legislature who are battle-tested and have personally and successfully used the Senate and House Rules and procedural nuances in the legislative debates on the floor and committee rooms. We have extensive experience in drafting legislation and fashioning creative amendments on the fly.

Your voice will be heard from experienced principals who have over 20 years of collective experience as elected officials in Annapolis. We have developed close friendships, bipartisan respect, interpersonal skills, and substantive knowledge to coordinate immediate responses to give you all the advantages to be in a position to succeed.

We provide you with up to the minute legislative analysis of the bills you are tracking as well as hearings, Task Force meetings and Leadership policy conferences during the interim legislative periods.

Sixth:  WE ARE NATIONAL IN SCOPE.
Complimentary to our local efforts, our continued involvement and attendance at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), Council of State Governments (CSG), the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the National Governor's Association (NGA), the RGA and DGA, the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC), and other similarly situated state and national organizations, provides us with a larger platform to represent and understand your interests.

Our federal public law experience is a great advantage to our state clients allowing us to address quickly federal bills and regulatory actions that will impact on your organization and its future position at the State level as well.

Seventh:  OUR MISSION.
While we are large enough to have staff and a comfortable office in the shadow of the State House, our Mission is to be selective in choosing our clients, eliminating the potential or appearance of conflicts, and to provide you the intimate, personal and trusted relationships and the immediate individualized support and “on-call” advocacy you deserve.

We look forward to working with you to understand your expectation and goals and learn how the organization has developed its unique character.  Our goal is to know more about your business than anyone else --- except you!
